TADASHI SHOJI S/S 2015 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

Romantic music similar to what you would hear on Downton Abbey slowly filled the quiet room, the lights around us became softer and blue lights slowly lit up the runway, reflecting a majestic facade on the background. We were not at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week anymore; we were taken on a beautiful journey to Venice. Sitting alongside the Grand Canal, with the Ca' d'Oro palace glowing in all its glory by the twilight, the time of day before the sunsets, watching the Tadashi Shoji S/S '15 collection glide over the waterway in front of us.

The collection was beautiful, intricate, romantic, and very feminine. Lace seemed to be Shoji's focus for this spring season, like the black corded lace mesh cape dress, the ivory corded lace belted trench, and the navy lace over embroidered tulle short sleeve tee. Lace crop tops in frosted jade, ivory and pink shadow were paired with floor length skirts giving the looks a very sexy yet classy feel. Capes were also very prevalent throughout; honestly those were my favorite pieces. They were so imperial, so majestic! My eyes were glued to those capes, like the gold metallic embroidered full length cape that closed the show. His use of metallic fabric embroidery, lace, and mesh all worked so well together. Truly excited to see these looks hit the red carpet because they were absolutely breathtaking.
