ERIN FETHERSTON S/S 2015 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

Charmed, I’m sure … Why yes! I definitely was when Erin Fetherston’s spring collection graced the runway. For a few seasons she has shown her designs in presentations; however, this season she wanted to see our expression as her collection did the moving around. And let me tell you, I fell in love. From the moment that pristine white neoprene crop top and almost ankle-length green and pink floral print neoprene skirt hit the catwalk, I salivated, and I’m not even a woman!

Look after look my eyes took in every detail to the point where I bumped into the lady in front of me in front row… whoops! But can you blame me for wanting to soak up the aura her garments were giving off. It was trendy, chic, and sophisticated; a collection you would want on a young Audrey Hepburn. Floral print in lush forest green and rose pink graced the facades of crisp white pencil skirts, peplum-like tops and dresses.  Jacquard in a metallic-ish pale yellow was transformed into a pant and blazer combo paired with a white floral lace crop top.  That same white lace was turned into a shift dress, knee length skirts, and a sleeveless baby doll-like dress.

Black was also incorporated into her designs as sophisticated cigarette pants, sleeveless body suit, tunics, and little shorts: paired with rose print pieces, or white and black metallic striped organza pieces. My favorite was the 1960’s mod dress, modernized by eliminating the sleeves and giving the peter pan collar a sharp edgier design. The delicate butterfly and leaf print added a trendy feminine twist to this piece, making it ready for dinner at Jules Verne, the restaurant within the Eiffel Tower.
