ALIANNA LIU FALL WINTER 2020

The Fall/Winter 2020 collection was inspired by the puzzle game Tetris.
With a mix of cubism and pixel art, she created the prints for the opulent velvet dress and skirt.
The prints were hand-drawn by designer, composed of tetrominoes and other motifs. The fabric
was ordered and manufactured in France and Italy. The use of organdie, silk, satin, and velvet for
the empire and mermaid flared dress, extols the female shape. The use of virgin wool for the
oversize coat brings out stronger and higher quality. The use of cotton is comfortable and easy to
wear.
As usual, designer’s creations were emphasised with details, from the puzzle game inspired
embroidery motifs to the Napoleonic era-inspired collars. The pieces which were highlighted by
the silver thread, beads, and sequins convey the handcraft sprite of Alianna Liu.
