The Tulip Anthology book from the photographer Ron Van Dongen was a sublime perfect inspiration for Tadashi Shoji who took us into a dreamy garden full of tulips in were the delicate and softer textures of chiffon, silk , linen, tulle & taffeta fabrics constructed such a harmony that only this master can deliver every season. From Daisy flowers to Petunia’s all included in this diffusive collection that conveys femininity, and also an evolving vision that was thoughtfully put together to capture the blooming charming side of women; he mentions that tulips and flowers have their own grace; just as beautiful & delicate as women, that’s what he wanted to highlight in the overall aspect for spring summer 2012.
Combining the experimentation dyeing process; Tadashi got amazing results from hand painted silks, delivering results of beautiful Ombré fusions, like the opening dress wore by model Valerija Kelava; and just as eye impact as the flowers, he name the dress “Magnolia” to go in hand with the lavishing creation. To be consistent, he re-interpreted the flowers with details like; fusion of bright colors, beading that seems like the dewdrops on a spring morning, and conforming a subtle 3D dimensional illusion reflected by the volume and movement of the garments.
The rhythm of the color palette plays a calm remarkable combination of; canary yellow, magnolia, purple shades, magenta & neutral tones that in compass with the pictures of the tulips make a bond between the real flowers and the surrealistic approach of making the dress fabrics to look as delicate as the petals.
As the cohesive connection in the collection was pictured by individualism, the diversity of flowers was also seeing in each of the looks; long gowns with full bodice in intricate lace, following the legs down with the transparency of sheer fabrics and finishing the dress with beaded lace – also the dresses with bold graphical lines were statement pieces that could represent different style and a diversity taste of options for women. The conservative elegance was another main concept in the collection; all the pieces play a classic indulging style inspired by the late 70′s & 80′s silhouettes but interpreted and revamped into luscious creations, in addition this collection showcases his high refinement on detailing and execution; each of the dresses was like the petal of a flower, delicate and beautifully crafted by hand that there’s no exceptionable thoughts about his taste and fascinating aesthetic .
Embracing this blossoming distinctive idea have once again captivate Tadashi’s audience, the power of his visions are putting his creations in a pedestal, that only the most simple elements of elegance are the perfect recognition’s to describe such an impeccable work.
