Resort for Stella Mc Cartney seems like the perfect occasion to let the vacation spirit blossom into your head, this time she is making us want to have a trip to the Fiji islands or to stay at the Copacabana resorts, however, both of them sound very tentative trips for the summer, in fact she’s leaving us wanting more !
Stella is giving us this time the perfect concept for summer, she’s introducing us to a little bit of retro vibe but still fresh and broke forward, although the aura from this collection is like the researched wardrobe concept before travelling, by mixing things that will work for day & night, work perfect as casual or elegant but yet still comfortable, so you can actually mix them together in whatever way you feel; as you may see the tropical palm trees and flowers we’re mixed with bold colorful stripes, so actually there’s no dress code, its more about mixing something that somehow works together.
Houndstooth print, flowers & palm trees we’re mixed with the minimalism feeling of pieces like: blazers and dresses, but to be truly honest, Stella’s resort looks like her own version of nautical-controlled elegance, ( in which controlled elegance was represented by the tailoring work, and nautical by the colorful summer prints). The use of bright colors like; orange, blue and canary yellow makes a perfect juxtaposition of this two ideas, which makes it cool and yet wearable.
A splash of Hawaiian flowers & palm trees was one of the huge statements in this collection, remember your father’s favorite tropical shirt? well, Stella is bringing back those old ideas and transforming them into wearable-cool edgy concepts, she’s giving it her own twist by having this tropical prints on jumpsuits, capes, skirts, shorts and even oversize boxy shirts, the synonym here is “risky”, trying something that is not conventionally beautiful, but still has a lot of excitement attach to it. Accessories are like vintage treasures; from bright bold-colorful python bags to retro colorful transparent box clutches, even ipad cases look like must have complements for resort 2012, the shoes come in a different variety, from patent-suede loafers, to black & beige patent pumps with less than a 3 inch heel.
Besides the obviously menswear tailoring concept, with the cropped trousers and blazers ( which now on seem like a signature piece of Stella collections), we can mention the girly feminine side, which was delivered by some gorgeous dresses decorated with appliqued beaded flowers in black & white, or one of the last gowns, that has a cocoon shape-cape and comes adorned beautifully with black bows.
