MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK F/W11 DAY 2

PERRY ELLIS FW11

Casual yet elegant, Perry Ellis FW2011 putted the brightness spark in dull tones, to create sophisticated ensembles in earth tones such as brownish varieties and hues in green. Where America meet UK, the collection looks like a juxtaposing of American menswear with UK elegance in detail. Memorable features of socks on top of jeans with butch shoes, 4 buttoned parkas, and leather long coats were spotted on the runway.

Models in the runway:
Justin Hopwood, Chad White, Sean Harju, Arthur Sales, Simon Nessman, William Ustace, Sean O’Pry, Louis Galloway, Daniel Lonstrom, Matt Egan, Jacob Coupe, Florian Anbael, Arthur K, Danny Schwarz, Nils Butler, Miles Garber, Lase, Mathias Bergh, Stan Jouk, Armando Cabral

Keep posted to see Perry Ellis’ designer John Crocco interview about his collection and future.

BUCKLER F/W11

After last season’s highly acclaimed show during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, designer Andrew Buckler it’s thrilled to present his new collection inspired in “Anonymous Art“. Andrew literally took the streets of NYC this season by blocking off Grand Street which it’s between Green and Mercer, right in the heart of SOHO; to show his collection of fall 2011.

The models walked up and down the street, wearing roguish urban American “looks” with a twist of Brit Edge. The street way consisted mostly of pieces in nougat, quarry, and the signature Buckler black; shining through, some rays of yellow founded in jackets, jeans and in details among other pieces.

NAUTICA F/W2011 PRESENTATION

Once again, Nautica held a presentation instead of a runway show this Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2011. The standing models at Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery in the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, in a mannequin style, stayed still on top of a pier with a “Nautical” ambiance of sea and sand. The Fall 2011 collection was inspired by the Maritime Heritage of the Sleeping Bear Dunes region of Lake Michigan; part of Americas’s Great Lakes region.

Quarry, burnt sienna in pastel which were inspired in the deep blue waters that wash up against high, neutral sand tunes (camel, cadet, ivory) honors the Coast Guard. Like most Nautica collections, they’re keeping their inspiration near the waters of the North.

Sally Lapointe F/W11 New York Fashion Week

Dim lightning and red sea wave tones, opened the doors to Sally Lapointe’s Fall/Winter 2011. Ms Lapointe, the designer, that seems to be in the pursue of the avant garde, showcase her realm of the abstract in a warehouse in New York City. The designs that resemble many recognized, renown designers of the different, walked down the runway next to water boxes with red lightning. The collection that contained multiple falling shoulder pads and abstract prints, carry shimmer and second skin fabrics that evolves you in her idea of the avant.
Ending with a sole strutting model in a red gown, the lights were off to be mesmerized with the design. Sally Lapointe is faithful in her belief that her fashion is meant to be lived and not watched.
