CHLOE DAO – SPRING 2012

For Spring/Summer 2012 designer The Chloe Dao, offers a collection which is characterized by a riot of color. The entire collection is a paean to bright hues, with beautiful color-block dresses in bright shades of royal blue, tangerine, raspberry, turquoise and emerald, with Aztec prints and kaleidoscope chiffons; some of the prints are different color combinations stitched together into one piece of fabric, each of the looks were accessorized with bright, chic Elaine Turner handbags and shoes.

My inspiration for this collection Spring 2012 …was very 60′s Mod, bright colors, and bold prints. Very on trend with what is happening at New York Fashion Week, I am also excited to style my collection with Elaine Turner accessories.” – said The Chloe Dao backstage before the show.

Over the years, here in Metrovelvet we have covered many seasons of Chloe’s collections and at the same time, we have seen the evolution on her designs as well as in her career. But I have to say the truth… when I saw her inspiration board with all the prints-fabrics that she was going to used in this Spring 2012 collection, I started to have mix-feelings… between getting excited of seeing something totally different, but the same time afraid of what the results were going to be.

I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone. I’m using fabric I don’t normally use. It’s bold and bright and very colorful. I think it’s the most colorful collection I’ve ever done. It’s the most amount of prints I’ve ever done,” she said.

All the people who had the chance to see up close, Chloe Dao’s collection, which it took us by surprised to see from the first to the last model, who walked down the catwalk in a beautiful dresses, some of them that included not one or two, but three different prints that were cut in a way which gave an amazing, perfect silhouette that I’m sure it will be happening the same to any woman who would like to wear it; something that is really hard to do, as well as the way that Chloe mixes all the other prints with solid colors. My hats off to Chloe Dao not only because she’s a good friend or because she made this beautiful collection, but for going out of her comfort zone, taking the risk to do something, different, unique and the same time so chic.
