With a quite long time in the fashion industry, Ana Gonzalez best known as Ana Locking has taken us into a trip to the most fantastic incredible collections she has designed in the past few years, and this Fall / Winter 2011 it’s no exception, for her established label Ana has build a unique taste for avant-garde ideas and turn them into wearable concepts mixed with artistically, intriguing and admiring aesthetic, which have taken her label to the next level in the world of fashion.
For Fall / Winter 2011, Ana created “Stance“, collection that started with the idea of opposite concepts, a singular method she developed from the social-human perspective and tailoring technique, based on it, Ana play with ideas like; long and short – smooth and wrinkle – light and dark -minimal and extravagant, however, even though each model had the same look, ( with dark make up and straight hair), all of them are different, she highlight something very important that many people tend to forget these days in their social life “Identity“, a trick that was not so obvious but still remains with the structure of this fall winter collection, the Main substance of “Stance“, is to find the light within yourself, to still be unique and ahead, by always making the right choice for your own benefit inside of a world with multiple voices and circumstances.
The mixture of shapes and confusing, yet well combined order of lines and hems it’s what makes a cutting edge juxtaposition that Ana learned to managed in a very elegant way, in other aspects; the chaotic darkness of “Stance” dissolved into an explosion of bold colors and neutral hues, which makes an obvious contradiction of darkness & light, however, it is the antagonique force of this different identities that makes this collection unique in all its aspects. Prominent structured shoulders and perfect silhouettes became a strong statement in this collection, they dissolved in a fusion of color blocking, a sense of architectural acknowledge with all the excellent execution & tailoring of each of the pieces.
Colors like: mustard yellow, red, sky blue, turquoise, black, beige, grey and camel, diffuse into a graphical alchemist of felicitous color blocking, at the same time a monochromatic scale with red, canary yellow and grey, we’re as well included between the color trends of “Stance”.
Accessories have an infinite feeling, necklaces, belts and bracelets are in white pearls and brass/gold plated- flexible tube-hose and are close with fitting brass screws.
The strong attraction between all this opposite ideas, makes a perfect cohesive connection, it is singular to see how incredible this opposite poles attract each other, from colors to the most subtle plead or hem, “Ana definitely is creating a sense of perfection without taking her complex ideas to seriously“.
