ROBERTO CAVALLI Fall 2012/13

Cavalli’s Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection is loaded with elegant pieces and modern looks with a slight toning down on the usual flamboyance of the fashion house used to do. The show started with a frenetic one-man harmonica playing blues band performing behind a scrim, while the first model walking down, wearing a leather jacket, shirt, slim tailored trousers and boots.

The rest of the collection consisted of fitted blazers, skinny trousers, leather jackets, oversize coats, sweaters, tuxedo shirts and even a beautiful poncho. Most of the looks included one or two piece either in velvet or in leather, as far as the colour palette consists of mainly blacks, grays and brown with a splash of white, pink, and blue here and there. There is several printed scales and feather re-imagined in black and white photographic prints to the surprisingly subtle use of tiger stripe in cutouts, but not as much as before. It also seems like Cavalli went for the Wild West and the Navajo inspiration for some of the looks.

When it comes to the accessories, there were belts, scarves, gloves, ties, bowties, even a Wild West inspired hat and a few pieces of jewelry- rings and few necklaces with feather pendants. This collection is edgy but wearable so well done to Daniele and Roberto Cavalli for putting together such a great collection; which showcases fabulous pieces, perfect for every gentleman wardrobe.
