PRABAL GURUNG Pre Fall 2012 THE FILM

RLB

Prabal Gurung’s success with uphill direction has both keys to reach it; business intelligence and creativity. And to back him up, the debut of his first pre-fall 2012 collection is just as genius as the video that was exclusively created for the collection. However, new strategies for advertisement always work in fashion, but what’s making his not doubtful success is his way to approach multidimensional ideas into feminine delicate statements.

By Keeping some of the silhouettes from spring summer 2012, the collection feels perfect for the transition between summer and fall, yet it was managed in such a feminine-though way that, what he approached seems wearable and easy for every day. To keep the hip factor, once again Prabal included the cool morbidness-other wordy Linda Farrow for Prabal Gurung sunglasses that delivered a great touch to the new approach of sexiness and mystery. Featuring an absence of bright colors, the palette in this collection has a combination between; blacks, neutrals, white and emerald green. Textures are as well delivering great effects on the clothes; like the green-reflective silk tailored suit, the fur coat or the golden embroidered fabric that was used for button shirts, skirts, dresses and pants.

The new theme for his pre-fall collection is India, seems a bit difficult to understand and find those clues in the collection, but from his own words, the collection does speaks the language of what he is trying to portrait-maybe the prints and modesty in some of the looks represent in precise direction the inspiration behind the collection. Although, Kaleidoscope patterns and other fabric illusions are going to cause a great reaction from people; actually pictures from the patchwork-tweed T-shirts have been all over the web these past weeks, and Moda Operandi is already selling by pre-order the 25 looks from the entire collection. Sort of Déjà vu; surely, that leather sleeve bomber jacket which price is $2,695 will sold out in a few days. The final silk green long sleeve gown, with a knot at the back; is a must have red carpet option for the award season, let’s stay tune, maybe somebody has already the dress on their hands.
