For this Fall/Winter 2012-13, Neil Barrett gave us a collection of contemporary minimalism and tailored outfits with a touch of urban inspired sportswear. The show started off with a duffle coat inspired jacket and a notable, oversized lambskin lining. This was followed by a quilted sports jacket worn with a finely knit turtle neck and tailored slim pants inspired like a track pants with synched in ankles or cropped at the ankle to expose the socks.
Other pieces in the collection included fitted single breasted blazers, slim fit pants with an athletic detail, waistcoats, along with padded jackets some with hoodies and others in leather were also featured, giving an athletic-active wear feel to the collection. Definitely oversized turtlenecks and chunky ankle boots seemed to be the perfect pieces to complete every look.
For the color palette, charcoal gray, black and tan dominated the collection, but there were a few splashes of red, maroon and mustard color, along with a few pieces in metallic and prints. As for accessories, beautiful leather backpacks worn like handbags are the way to go. Neil Barrett’s collection merged active wear and tailoring in a fun reinvention, to create not only a cohesive collection, but also elegant clothing for the sophisticated man.
