“But when I hear the air is still, and the talking heads have won, I will say with certainty, and flicking my echoed tongue: I was good at everything, I, and you plus one.” Those were the optimistic words we found on a very graphic and colorful invitation for Jen Kao‘s Fall Winter 2013 runway show. That successful poetic juxtaposition worked in hand with her Aesthetic. As soon as the first look hit the runway – a denim field jacket with detachable leather gloves – it denoted Jen’s new take for a sophisticated-edgy women.
Jen Kao loves separates to be multifunctional and represent comfort, you could see it through the boxy-slouch silhouettes, the skirts, and all the entire outerwear. Her women this time wears red lipstick and stockings, but she likes to add a little bit of irony on her chic aesthetic, that’s when the “touch-me” details flourish on the clothes – see, goat fur bleed through the patching seams of a cropped shearling jacket, or the geometric-patching textile with vinyl, leathers, fur and wool. To add more, she also worked with denim, wool , cashmere, lurex, neoprene, and suede – but she finished them in a high-end way. For example, her indigo denim jackets look like armor on the bodices, and her boxy sweaters with a graphic patch in black vinyl, are surely already on every of the buyers list. Accessories hit the jackpot as well, the shoes, and the 3D shaped bags in wood were also one of the best complements to such an architectural collection.
