GIVENCHY – RESORT 2012

A tropical-Hawaiian baroque feeling invade Ricardo Tisci‘s mind for Givenchy resort 2012, this time the darkness & gothicism was slightly moved to the side and welcomed the exotic colorful- flower baroque blossom prints from fall 2011, which seemed to be the start point of a new mode that Ricardo is developing but yet still managing his mysterious aesthetic in softer way, the collection has a combination of sporty mixed with baseball & from military to some safari references, that we’re balanced in a great way, leading this cutting edge concept into an urban vibe.

Ricardo opted for reinventing the old yellow and purple prints from fall, but this time the digitally blossom prints have Orchid & opal fire flowers (which actually look like wild birds from the amazon), exciting prints that covered; pencil skirts, button collar shirts, T-shirts, dresses and sweaters, in the other hand materials like; mesh in military green became another huge statement in this collection. Tiny sweaters cropped above the breast area, in different colors as well as printed; seem to be must haves from this collection, although Tisci’s geniously odd sense of mixing repulsive-chic-urban does not ends there, somehow a body conscious purple sequinned-sheer beige mesh dress was included as well in this kaleidoscopic collection.

As always Givenchy delivers a perfect managing of silhouettes and tailoring work, in this resort collection there’s no exception, in fact some pieces represent perfect Ricardo’s precise work; like the white suit with cropped constructed blazer, paired with white cropped pants-penguin tail back, detail that was constructed from the hip down, finished above the zipper area and goes long at the back, amazing don’t you guys think?

And from blossom Amazonian patterns, Givenchy’s resort jump to a monochromatic scale in white, military green and all black, however, it was just part of whole sport spirit-urban vibe from the clothes .

The sportswear concept was also delivered by accessories like: caps with blossom prints, sun transparent visor hats and long key strap holders as necklaces, which gave the last touches to the collection, so far Ricardo is demonstrating that he can be as unexpected as he wants to be after all, he definitely knows exactly what his doing.
