A.O.S / Adopt. Sustain.Evolve
During Thursday March 3 the first day of Miami Beach International fashion week, Kayce Armstrong and Anthony Heimann shown their collection for A.O.S mostly known as Art Of Shade. with a few group of friends this emerging designers main idea is to recycle and reuse materials like plastic, mosquito netting or even other materials that with a high ending process can look like leather, suede or vinyl and that also can create and become a garment, and what perfect way to balance their style and materials by having this functional-darkness-Gothicism aesthetic.
A collection with an androgynous feeling and a touch of functional-urban chic that’s how I perceive it , or another worldly women with those red smokey eyes ( as they we’re shown on the runway ) , this futuristic concept seems to be a perfect match for their signature words; Adopt. Sustain. Evolve, a concept that as easy as it sounds can be a little bit complex to work on, but Kayce Armstrong and Anthony Heimann are up to everything that comes on their road to make it happen, perhaps the knowledge they have behind their constructed architectural garments is just very thoughtfully as their word sustain comes to my brain and which also makes it very resourceful, I soon believe in preserve and create new things out of what we already have in use; not every day we get to see this new talents with new visions , and what fascinates me the most is the way the group work together in every single detail, and at the end everything comes together in one concept.
With their muse model Chlesea Wichmann the A.O.S garments come to life, not only because her talent as a model but also because her androgynous darkness enigmatic beauty which completes the feeling of been part of a new generation and a new movement ” Evolve “.
In seven different looks Kayce and Anthony broke down their signature words Adopt.Sustain.Evolve, by creating amazing structured jackets in colors like black, red and white, created out of materials like plastic fiber bags and faux leathers processed to the point of limpness to make it have less stiffness and make it look more rough edge, also mosquito netting became oversize T- shirts with the A.O.S printed logo, corsets and dresses made out of elastic black bands with zippers gave us the feeling of high fashion bondage wear and from the darkness to the lightness with the amazing “Gothic angel gown ” which is the name we adopt for the white sheer gown that has one arm long sleeved and plays asymmetrical construction ( real name of the dress is White Stealth ), the show closed with muse & model Chelsea Wichmann wearing a couture gown with detachable ruffled constructed skirt and bondage corset cage dress paired with high over the knee- high heel black boot.
Kayce Armstrong and Anthony Heimann & A.O.S group won during the Miami Beach International Fashion Week – Miami Moda & Music Awards as the Designer Choice Award 2011, which make us very happy that the judges got to see the potential and the talent that this amazing group of designers have. I was so happy wearing one of their designs during the show, I felt really honored to be representing such an amazing group of young and very talented designers.
Congratulations A.O.S for this new beginning!
