On one of the first brisk fall nights of the season, we ventured over to CEILO Club in NYC. We were overjoyed to be invited by one of our favorite house music artist, Anane.
As we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the Ceilo door staff. Upon entering we ran into many friends of ours from Tommy Boy Records, and it just set the tone for that night that we were going to have a great time.
After watching the insanely talented dancers tearing up the floor, which looked like they defied gravity, we were treated to a special performance by ANANE.
Dressed in a little black dress and lace gloves the songstress immediately commanded the room. The crowd was enslaved by the percussion beats, bass, and flawless vocals that flowed out of Anane. It was a great experience to see her live.
We were floored by her performance, and the crowd showed her love right back.
Promptly after she stepped off stage, we whisked her away to a little quiet spot to Ceilo outdoor patio for an intimate interview. Hope you fall in love with her as we did.

If you want to catch Anane Live, she will be performing during Vega Records Christmas Party on December 20th at Pacha NYC.

New York is always the right place to meet artists and singers, and today was no exception.

Metrovelvet, arrived to Borders, Columbus Circle at Time Warner, to get close to one of our favorites singers Mr. Darren Hayes. Darren originally from Australia is having some concerts all over the States.

We’ve seen nice and friendly artist be kind with there fans, but Darren really was the winner. He really spent time with every single one of his fans that lined up to get his autograph.

But let’s start form the beginning. At 7:09 PM Darren arrived to the special events area at Borders where around 500 people were cheering for him like crazy. (I was one of them). With a sweet Australian accent, He greeted and thanked every single person for being there.

He opened the Live concert with one of the songs from his promotional Album “THIS DELICATE THING WE’VE MADE” ( this is a 2 CD’s album).

After the 2nd song, he started drinking his first Herbal tea and asked his Guitar companion for the next song to come on. When Darren surprised the whole audience with an amazing personification of BRITNEY SPEARS “Gimme More” in a slow version with movements that put the crowd to scream. He didn’t stop there, he also sang Madonna’s “American Life”. He really worked the songs and created the perfect ambiance for the rest of his show.

After the show ended, he started signing every single of the CD and more memorabilia that his fans brought to him. It was really amazing to see him keep up the energy and attitude for his fans showing how artists should treat to their fans. Truly a class act.

So when it was my turn to meet him, I separated my fan side and ask him and his manager for an interview. Hopefully we’ll get it soon for you guys. With out realizing, my time was up and I noticed that I sucked as a fan because I didn’t mention how much I admired him. So let me make it public: Darren you are the Best! and Metrovelvet will always support you.

After getting my cd and poster autographed, I headed back home almost at 9:40 and Darren stays there signing with a big smile, shaking hands, kissing, he even surprised a fan via phone, who was all the way in Brazil.

The underdog in the start of the season prevails over all. The two time Indy 500 winner Brazilian, Heilo Castroneves adds another trophy to his collection. The American viewers voted him the winner of this season Dancing With The Stars. Partner Julianne Hough, who was the winner also last year, helped the champ become a professional dancer. The Miami native edged out Spice Girl Melanie Brown, and Marie Osmond in the spectacular ending to this exciting season. It was great to see the other contestants return for a final dance.
Metrovelvet Favorite Sabrina Bryan (Cheetah Girls) burned up the dancefloor, showing proof she needed to be in the Finals. We’re excited to see next season, rumor has it Florence Henderson is already signed up for it.

Ok Justin Timberlake challenged MTV to play more videos. Guess it didn’t work JT. Yes,there are other MTV channels like MTV HITS that play constant videos, and we’re grateful for other channel Viacom has given us.
The question is does anyone work at the MTV studios on the weekends? How many Top Model Marathons can we really watch? If marathons are needed, bring back some old shows, Real World 1, Road Rules, something. As much as I’m ranting, I will most likely still be tuned in to the Top Model Marathon. So Get out Shop, it’s officially the Holiday Season, SALES SALES SALES!

EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION 100th FAMILY 8 P.M.

They have changed the lives for the better for 100 familys! That’s amazing. Ty and the crew have be hard at work since the beginning of this show.
I always list this on Sunday’s, but its so humbling. Now that the holiday season is in full swing. Take a look at this show, let it hit you in your heart. Let’s think of those less unfortunate than us, and lets give back. Choose a charity you like donate something. It would take about 10 minutes of your time online to donate anything you wish.
