NYC, Dana Owens, better know as Queen Latifah . Returns to throne with a new musical experience entitled Trav’lin’ Light .
We caught up with her majesty at Virgin Megastore Times Square. Where The Queen reined supreme. Entering down via the escalator, Latifah descended to the lower lever where her fans were excitingly awaiting her arrival. Looking gorgeous (as usual) , she had a delightfulness in her glow about this new venture.
It was the official release of a new project produced by Ron Fair and Tommy LiPuma. Trav’Lin’ Light is a musical journey in which the Oscar nominated/Grammy Winner, Latifah, covers classics by music’s legends. Including Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughn, Roberta Flack, and Etta James among others. Our favorite Cover Girl, fuels the album with amazing soulful-jazzy tracks. Especially the cover of Georgia Rose with guest Stevie Wonder, which we absolutely adore.
The title track, which was originally sang by the great Ella Fitzgerald, is simply perfection. Even if jazz isn’t your pick in the music genre, you will definitely find a love in Trav’lin’ Light. The Trav’lin’ Light Tour has even been extended with more added dates to the itinerary. The Tour kicks off in Dallas September 29th and runs for another 7 weeks ending November 20th.
Metrovelvet highly recommends taking a night out and listening to some amazing music. We are quite confident the Queen shall be nominated for a Grammy.

The story revolves around Chanings’ character Sean Arthur, who gets by as New York City ticket scalper.When by chance he meets an established street fighting coach, it offers him opportunties to a whole new life.
