Amy Winehouse “They tried to make her go to rehab, and she said NO, NO, NO! The chart-topping Amy Winehouse checked herself and hubby into rehab. Both Amy and husband Blake rushed back to the U.S. to check into rehab for “intensive counseling and detox treatment.” Reports say their family members had just about enough of the soulful singer and husband’s heroin & cocaine addictions. Her U.S./Canadian tour will be postponed. An official statement posted on her website claims the postponement is due to her health issues! OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Due to the rigours involved in touring, Amy Winehouse, who is taking time out to address her health issues, has been advised to postpone her upcoming September US and Canadian tour dates. Amy’s European and UK tour dates in October and November remain in place. There will be no further comment.

So all you who were hoping to catch her at Central Park’s Summer Stage Concert scheduled for September 12th, 2007 will have to wait. We are just happy that the star is getting the treatment that she needs. I know I love me some Amy Winehouse! On that note, we here at Metrovelvet would like to hear from you. Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls has just dropped her first debut solo single entitled “Whatever You Like.” It’s “hot as a stove,” burning up radio, video, and club play. While there are many mixed reviews of this pussycat calling the single “a Beyonce Ring The Alarm rip off,” we here at Metrovelvet don’t see this cat running off nowhere but up the charts with that sultry voice. Prior to the Pussycat Dolls you might recall Nicole taking part in WB’s “POPSTARS” where “Eden’s Crush” was formed in 2001. Ranked #22 in Maxim’s Hot 100 in 2006, Nicole has recorded duets with P.Diddy, Avant, Will Smith, and Shaggy. HER NAME IS NICOLE was produced with heavy hitters Timberland, Will.I.Am., and Bryan Cox. The album includes songs written by Ne-Yo, who said in an interview for Winnipeg that the songs were originally written for Britney Spears’ new album but thought they would work better for Nicole’s debut album. HER NAME IS NICOLE, which had an original release date of Oct 16th, 2007, has been pushed back to November 6th, 2007. Don’t forget to check out her new video.
