In a world where people run to the store front mannequin and put on that exact outfit, people have forgotten what fashion really means.
The average shopper lacks color, creativity, and any kind of vision at all. In a world where this is all too true, it turns heads when someone breaks the mold. Local well known club kid and fashion designer Lady Deelite is doing just that. Whenever she walks into a room, she oozes personality and people are drawn to her.
Her world of color, heavily inspired by her close friends the L.A. Club Kids, has gotten her friendships with noteworthy Father of the House of Ninja Benny Ninja and other fashionistas world wide.

When asked what fashion means to her she simply explains “it’s a way of life, a way of expression, and it is truly the only way to show who you really are without ever having to say anything.” Lady Deelite has already done 2 fashion shows this year at a local salon in Orlando, Florida.

The event was titled Koochie Couture and she meant it when she said couture. Her hand sewn and hand designed tutus and outfits left a statement that she was not playing around.

Her designs have created a buzz throughout the city and in many other places as well.
The pictures of the event were featured in the entertainment website Metromix. com, in 411 Magazine, all over the Myspace. com network and now on Metrovelvet.com as well. Once the pictures reached different cities people were really talking and everyone was wondering where they could get these outfits.

Some people have a paved road for them that will lead them to their easy success in life. Other people are not as lucky and have to work their way up step by step. Lady Deelite is running up the steps to success taking all the right moves and people are noticing. She has ever changing color and style that would make drag queens proud. Anyone who has caught a glimpse of her can tell you, she never looks the same, her hair changes in color and style almost daily, and she is fearless to take risks and push the limit as far as she possibly can.
She has quickly become a force to be reckoned with and I venture to say will soon be seen on a much larger screen than the one her life is playing on right now.

1.Vanessa & Angela Simmons SHOW RUN’S HOUSE MTV

These girls have their cake and bake it too! The daughters of
Rev Run of RUN DMC, have started their own line of sneakers
and sport apparel for women called Pastry.

Pastry has proven very successful for the girls. Vanessa has
had a returning role on Guiding Light, and Angela has her own
magazine called Angela’s Run Down.

She takes on the full task of running a magazine. These girls
are well off with their own cash. They have also been recognized
for their hard work as being role models for the
Girl Scouts of America.

There’s no stopping these two beautiful and intelligent
young women. Blessed with a great family, they have grown up
with the right morals intact. Many of these young celebrities
could learn a thing or two from Vanessa & Angela.

2. Lauren Conrad SHOW THE HILLS MTV

We’ve watched her go from high school days at Laguna to living
the fab life in the Hills. She’s been on two televisions shows for MTV,
has been on the covers of Teen Vogue, Seventeen and many more magazines, she’s the spokesperson for Avon’s Mark campaign, has designed a line of handbags for LINEA PELLE, and has also designed
a line of clothes.

With her job at Teen Vogue this girl shows that a full plate in her hands doesn’t slow her down. With rumors and controversy thrown at her,
Lauren knows her path and is following it towards stardom.

Style is Lauren Conrad, she has influenced young and mature women
how to be sexy, confident, and proper, while still having fun. She’s not
on the best dressed list over and over for nada. What’s next for Lauren?

3. Andre Birleanu SHOW AMERICA’S MOST SMARTEST MODEL VH1

Andre Birleanu moved to New York City in 1996. He was accepted
to John Jay Criminal Justice Academy to follow in the career path
of his father. Vladmir Birleanu handled cases of war crimes, human trafficking, modern slavery and many more international duties.

His late mother worked at the United Nations in New York, so Andre
was attending school to study International Criminal Law & Forensic Psychology. He was discovered by Boss Models NY in his second
year of school. From there Andre has made his mark in the fashion industry.

He has been in numerous publications, he has worked for clients, DKNY, Speedo, Converse, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s East, Redken, Rocawear
& Lacoste, just to name a few.

So if you thought that Andre was simply a brainless model, THINK AGAIN! He might have a thick accent and a take charge and conquer attitude,
but he’s working it to his advantage. Now with the show on VH1 Andre’s fame will just grow stronger.

On the show he had most of the strongest photos, I think if it wasn’t for the language barrier issue, he’d kick some major ass in most of those question challenges. Andre already has several things in the works and we wish him the best of luck.

4. Tiffany “NEW YORK” Pollard SHOW I LOVE NEW YORK VH1.

Do you have love for New York? Love Her or Love to Hate her, 25 year old New York is doing something right. Maybe she’s just great television,
but she is raking in the number of people tuning in to watch her wacky, crazy, drama filled show. We’ve seen may people play the card of crazy, not so intelligent on TV, and she’s smoking her way all the way to the bank. (literally) Will New York find love at the end of season 2? Is there a Season 3 in the works? Or maybe she’ll be on another show.

Hmm, rumors are already flying. One thing we know Tiffany Pollard has made herself a star.

5. Kourtney, Kim & Khloe Kardashian SHOW KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS E!

If Charlie could have his beauties present day, he’d pick these gorgeous girls from Calabasas California. These three lovely women have their own store DASH that sells luxury designer brands.

Kim has been a successful model, but now all three are cashing in the industry. With the popularity of their show there is already a second season coming soon. The power of the K’s come in 3’s and expect to see more of these girls everywhere. The fame runs in the family.

Late father Robert Kardashian was the famous O.J. Simpson lawyer,
Step dad Bruce Jenner was an Olympian Gold Winner, and Brother Brody Jenner is on The Hills. They grew up as children with Nicole Richie & Paris Hilton, and still remain buddies till this day. Beauty and Brains, believe it my friends!

ANANE Rising Star.

If you not familiar with the name, you’ve definitely busted some moves to her songs. The beautiful Capo Verde native, that would make Coco Chanel proud with her amazing style , had been singing her way into everyone’s hearts.

Heating up dance floors around the world with her Soulful island infused tracks since she stepped on the scene. Anane has her plateful from being a full time mother, wife to music legend Louie Vega, and soothing the souls of dance goers everywhere.

She has become the “Queen of Soulful House Music”. Her voice is a producers dream. There’s no studio tricks with her, she‘s the real deal. Which is very rare these days to find an artist that can perform on stage as in the studio.

We caught Anane’ at a performance at Cielo NYC, where the crowd was floored by the incomparable talent she possesses. We want to tell you more about this amazing artist Metrovelvet has feel in love with, but We don’t want to give to much away.

We sat down with Anane’ for an interview, which we’ll be bringing to you shortly. You don’t want to miss this, especially with live concert footage. Anane Selections will be out in April 2008 on Tommy Boy, but you can get many of her songs that are out on Vega Records.

DJ PETER RAUHOFER

Since his first splash on the music scene in 1992 with Club 69, Peter has been serving up hits.
15 years later Rauhofer has built an empire and has become a major player in the music industry. Bringing unique mixes to the table, which fans fight to have, to DJ’s dying to get a mix on his label STAR 69, to launching artist to instant stardom.

Native New Yorker, Guy Guido has been in a creative state of mind since he was just a child. Growing up Guy knew what his calling was. Driven by his artistic ambition, Guy became a successful makeup artist and hair stylist, career paths that inevitably opened a lot of doors for him and gave him the tools that would later expand his career. While making a name for himself as a make up artist Guy decided to attend New York University to study film and television

Producing and directing short films and studying narrative screenwriting lead him to receive his BFA. Armed with a degree, the tools, and the drive, Guy was armed and ready for whatever came his way. With the skills and experiences under his belt, he could basically do everything himself from makeup to set design and direction, all elements that guided him towards music videos and conceptual portraiture.

You may have seen some of Guy’s first projects, such as Ari Gold’s video for “Wave of You,” an homage to the late Herb Ritts which Guy directed. Recreating flawlessly the scenes from his videos like Madonna’s “Cherish” and Janet’s “Love Will Never Do” are as captivating to a new fan as they are to a tired and true one.

Utilizing everything in his arsenal of knowledge Guy started his project ICONS, magically transforming individuals into iconic stars through his unmatchable artistry. A tedious process he admits. Guy studies the celebrity’s movement, facial expression, hair, and emotion. This is where his study of still photography comes in hand. He truly knows how to capture the exact feel of the very moment the original photo was taken. Guy has mastered his artform so well that you would think he was the director and photographer of the initial shoots. He is a perfectionist and it shows.

Guy has recreated the early days of Madonna, Marlon Brando, Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, and Judy Garland. Besides these impeccable photos he has brought back to life, he hasn’t stopped there. Guy has also perfectly recreated Madonna’s “Borderline” video and “Burning Up.” Every inch of detail of the aesthetics was covered. It is almost fooling to the eye, how similar and true to the original they are. We can’t wait to see what’s next on his agenda!

Metrovelvet was lucky enough to catch a showing of Guy’s ICONS work at Posh in New York City.
Yes, we were fooled walking in not being able to notice a slight imperfection to show the photo was a recreation, a makeover of his trade on these amazing actors. We are still in awe of his work and have become big time fans and supporters. We were able to sit down and speak to the man himself and some of his subjects he used in his photography. Enjoy, we sure did.
